No change in prices after July 2022
India does not produce enough oil and gas to meet its requirements. In such a situation, he has to depend on foreign countries for supply. As the price of petrol and diesel fluctuates in the international market, the price of oil and gas in India also fluctuates.
Also, the government has given state-owned companies (oil marketing companies) the power to set oil and gas prices. These companies have not made any change in the prices of LPG from 6 July 2022. In the same period so far, the prices of crude oil and gas in the international market have fallen by 30 percent. That is, companies are buying oil and gas very cheaply and selling it to people at high prices.
Prices have fallen by up to 30 per cent in the international market
In October 2022, the price of crude oil in the international market was $ 85 per barrel. At that time, LPG cylinder was available in the country for Rs.899. Since then till now the government has increased the rate by about 150 rupees. The price of oil in the international market has now reached $83 per barrel. That is, from October 2021, oil prices have also come down. In such a situation, it is believed that the government may announce a reduction of up to Rs 150 on LPG cylinders in the new year.
Gehlot government played a big game
Assembly elections are going to be held in Rajasthan next year. In view of this, the Gehlot government has made a big move. CM Ashok Gehlot announced that from April 1, 2023, domestic gas cylinders will be made available to the people of Rajasthan at Rs 500 (LPG price). The current LPG cylinder price in Jaipur is Rs.1056. That is, the Gehlot government is going to provide cooking gas cylinders to the people at less than half the cost next year.
