Ration Card New Portal: How many ration cards were canceled?
According to Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey, about 4.7 crore ration cards of about 18 to 19 crore beneficiaries have been canceled due to various reasons in the last 7 to 8 years. New ration cards are also issued regularly to the eligible beneficiaries by the states and union territories.
He said that the new web-based facility would be currently available as a pilot project in 11 states and union territories. Ration card facility will be started in all 36 states and union territories of the country by the end of this month.

According to the secretary, the 11 states and union territories that have started this ration card portal facility include Assam, Goa, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
