Is it okay for a teacher and student to have a romantic relationship?
In the Teachers’ Code of Ethics, the romantic relationship between teacher and student could be interpreted as taboo behavior. Furthermore, this relationship is illegal within the scope of the Criminal Code if sexual acts take place.
What happens if a teacher has a relationship with a student?
A sexual relationship with a student could prevent a teacher from carrying out their legal duties to protect students from sexual abuse. When it comes to children under age 18, the law and court opinion are unambiguous: minors cannot give consent to sexual conduct, and any such relationship is expressly forbidden.

It is considered a forbidden act for teachers to fall for their students. As teachers, they stand in loco parentis as regards their minor wards. It is therefore unthinkable for a teacher, who under the law is a substitute parent, to have amorous feelings towards his or her minor student.
