Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole on Monday said that schools will remain open as long as heavy snow falls.
As per Kashmir news service Pole was speaking to reporters during inaugural ceremony of Indus Bank in Hari Singh High Street, Srinagar. He said the schools in Kashmir valley will continue its classes till there is no heavy snowfall.
“The schools will remain open till there is no heavy snowfall in Kashmir”, Div Com told reporters.
Yesterday, on Nov 13 Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Tasaduq Hussain Mir said, “Winter vacations in Kashmir valley are subservient to the weather conditions.”
He said, “As of now, we have no plans of winter vacations.”
The director further said that the department will continue the academics till weather situation allows.
“The school Education Department will take a call on winter vacations only when the weather conditions deteriorate or there will be minus temperatures here,” DSEK said.
